Say hello again ;-). The new BB3.AL is here! We have made the classic among the 3 inch broadbands even better! Missed a new die-cast aluminum basket, so easier to install and visually even more beautiful. We also increased the impedance from 6 to 8 ohms. But honestly the technical qualities could not be improved much. This classic remains top class for the next 15 years. So stay curious, the surely following exciting projects with the new Omnes Audio BB3.AL.

The BB3.AL by Omnes Audio shows some constructive refinements : This includes the subordinate voice coil, which keeps the moving mass low. The coil is shorter in this construction than the magnetic air gap deep, so that it is located completely within the magnetic field up to the limit of the linear diaphragm deflection. Despite the lush 25-millimeter voice coil diameter for a three-cylinder engine, only four millWith a winding height of only four millimeters, the moving mass of only 25 millimeters remains small by just over two grams.
Aluminum diaphragm and dust cap meet one another at the very top of the voice coil. Thus, the dome is driven directly, without detour via the membrane cone - important for optimal high-frequency reproduction. Technically, the success of this design is clear: The BB3.AL has a remarkably smooth frequency response and delivers up to 20 kilohertz a convincingly balanced frequency response curve. At ten kilohertz, the membrane breaks up into partial vibrations; However, the two detectable resonance peaks are very moderate and therefore sound uncritical.
The particularly compact Nominal 6 Ohm magnet system, possible thanks to a highly efficient neodymium magnetNeodymium magnets, the BB3.AL allows a relatively unhindered sound radiation back into the speaker housing. In addition, it provides enough space for four holes that provide a controlled way out of the air mass displaced by the spider. This reduces air turbulence, flow noise and losses and ultimately improves the sound, especially at higher volume. Thanks to the Kapton coil carrier, eddy current losses do not occur. Therefore, and because the elastic components bead and voice coil are designed low loss, the mechanical quality is high and the mechanical loss resistance low. These are ideal conditions for a convincing sound performance.
With a total quality of just under 0.5, a bass reflex tuning is well possible, the Ethe result with 65 Hertz cut-off frequency at just 2.4 liters housing volume very convincing.
Conclusion: The BB3.AL from Omnes Audio is a superbly designed full-range speaker with excellent acoustic properties.
